Mahindra just pulled the wraps off the XUV 7XO, and it’s coming in hot with a starting price of Rs. 13.66 lakh. That’s ex-showroom, introductory pricing locked in for the first 40,000 deliveries. Bookings go live on January 14, 2026, with deliveries kicking off the same month for top-spec variants.
This isn’t a mild refresh. The XUV 7XO arrives with six trim levels spanning AX to AX7L, both six- and seven-seat options on higher trims, and a features list that reads like a tech catalog. Mahindra’s betting big on this one.
What’s the Damage?

Base AX trim with a petrol manual and seven seats starts at Rs. 13.66 lakh. Move to AX3 and you’re looking at Rs. 16.02 lakh for petrol manual or Rs. 16.49 lakh for diesel manual. AX5 pushes things to Rs. 17.52 lakh and Rs. 17.99 lakh respectively.
The AX7 starts the premium tier at Rs. 18.48 lakh for petrol manual and Rs. 18.95 lakh for diesel manual. AX7T offers six- or seven-seat layouts, diesel-first approach. Seven-seat diesel manual is Rs. 20.99 lakh. Six-seat diesel manual hits Rs. 21.39 lakh. Petrol automatic enters here at Rs. 21.97 lakh for seven seats and Rs. 22.16 lakh for six seats.
Top-spec AX7L seven-seat diesel manual costs Rs. 22.47 lakh. Petrol automatic starts at Rs. 23.45 lakh. Six-seat AX7L is automatic-only, priced at Rs. 23.64 lakh for petrol and Rs. 24.11 lakh for diesel.
Want an automatic? That’s Rs. 1.45 lakh over manual pricing. AWD is diesel-only and adds Rs. 2.45 lakh.

Delivery Timeline Splits the Range
Mahindra’s staggering this launch. AX7, AX7T, and AX7L variants deliver first starting January 14, 2026. Pre-bookers get priority. Base AX, AX3, and AX5 variants won’t start reaching customers until April 2026.
That’s a three-month gap. If you want the entry-level or mid-spec trim, you’re waiting.
Tech Stack Gets Real Upgrade

The XUV 7XO claims to be India’s first ICE SUV with a coast-to-coast triple-screen dashboard across all variants. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155P octa-core chip. Mahindra calls this their first Software Defined Vehicle with the new ADRENOX+ architecture.
DAVINCI suspension makes its global debut here. It combines frequency-selective damping with a multi-link rear setup. That’s Mahindra’s answer to ride quality complaints on previous models.
Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are baked into the cabin. Sixteen-speaker Harman Kardon system handles audio. There’s powered front seats with memory, a powered co-driver seat with Boss Mode, ventilated seats front and rear, dual wireless chargers with cooling, and a panoramic sunroof.
BYOD theatre mode, retractable rear sunshades, acoustic glass, and an Intelli Command Centre round out the kit.

Engines Stay Familiar
Mahindra stuck with proven powertrains. The 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel carry over. Six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter automatic are your gearbox choices.
Petrol manual claims 0 to 60 kmph in under five seconds. Drive modes include Zip, Zap, Zoom, and custom.
Safety packs over 120 features with 75 standard across all trims. Level 2 ADAS with dynamic visualization, 540-degree surround camera with DVR, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, driver drowsiness detection, and seven airbags including third-row curtain airbags. Mahindra says it meets 5-star Bharat NCAP standards.

Price vs Value: Where Does It Land?

At Rs. 13.66 lakh, the base AX undercuts competitors but strips out most tech. AX3 at Rs. 16.02 lakh starts making sense if you want basic connectivity. AX5 at Rs. 17.52 lakh adds more but still skips key premium features.
Real value starts at AX7. Rs. 18.48 lakh gets you most of the headline tech including the triple-screen setup and DAVINCI suspension. AX7T adds more luxury but crosses Rs. 21 lakh, which is Creta territory.
AX7L at Rs. 22.47 lakh for diesel manual or Rs. 23.45 lakh for petrol automatic is loaded but expensive. You’re competing with compact luxury SUVs here.

Will This SUV Sell?
AX7 likely becomes the volume driver. It hits the sweet spot between price and features without bleeding into premium territory. AX7T and AX7L will appeal to buyers who want every bell and whistle but won’t move huge numbers.
Base AX and AX3 exist to lower the entry price. They’ll sell to fleet buyers and budget-conscious families. AX5 might get squeezed in the middle.
Mahindra claims strong bookings already. If they deliver on build quality and the tech actually works as advertised, this could be a serious player in the Rs. 15 to 20 lakh segment.
The three-month delivery gap for lower trims could hurt early momentum. But if Mahindra keeps the first 40,000 units at intro pricing and the top variants deliver without major issues, they’ve got a shot at making this work.
