Mahindra just added an electric version to its XUV 3XO lineup, and it starts at Rs. 13.89 lakh ex-showroom. The company unveiled the EV today in Jaisalmer, giving buyers who liked the petrol and diesel versions a zero-emission alternative.
The XUV 3XO EV comes in two trims, AX5 and AX7L. Both use the same 39.4 kWh battery pack that Mahindra says will give you around 285 km of real-world range. That’s not class-leading, but it’s honest range marketing, which matters more than inflated ARAI numbers.
What’s Under the Hood

The electric motor puts out 110 kW, which translates to about 147.5 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. That’s enough to hit 100 kmph in 8.3 seconds, making this one of the quicker subcompact SUVs you can buy right now. Three drive modes let you pick between Fun, Fast, and Fearless depending on how spirited you’re feeling.
Charging takes about 50 minutes from empty to 80 percent on a 50 kW DC fast charger. That’s reasonable for road trips, though you’ll want to plan your stops.
Mahindra fitted frequency-dependent damping suspension and what they call MTV-CL tech for stability. In plain terms, it should handle bumps better than a stiffly sprung EV.

Inside and Out

The 3XO EV looks almost identical to its combustion siblings. You get LED projector headlamps, slim LED tail lights, roof rails, and diamond-cut alloys. It’s a clean design that doesn’t scream “I’m electric” with weird blue accents or closed-off grilles.
Inside there are twin 10.25-inch screens, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette seats, and soft-touch materials where your hands actually go. Dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, rear AC vents, and a 60:40 split rear seat round out the practical stuff.
The AX7L trim adds a 7-speaker Harman Kardon setup with Dolby Atmos and 65W USB-C fast charging. Mahindra’s Adrenox system brings over 80 connected features including remote controls, Alexa voice commands, and smartwatch integration. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay work wirelessly.
Safety kit includes six airbags, ESP, TPMS, four-wheel disc brakes, and a rear camera as standard. Step up to the top trim and you get Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking that watches for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, plus a 360-degree camera with blind-spot monitoring.

Is It Worth Your Money?

Here’s the thing. At Rs. 13.89 lakh, the XUV 3XO EV undercuts the Tata Nexon EV and sits in striking distance of the MG Comet EV and upcoming rivals. But 285 km of range might feel tight if you’re doing longer commutes or weekend getaways without charging infrastructure nearby.

The regular XUV 3XO has already moved over 1.8 lakh units since launching in late 2024. That’s serious momentum. Mahindra clearly knows this formula works, and adding an EV variant makes sense for buyers who want the same package without visiting fuel pumps.
If you’re in a city with decent charging and your daily drive stays under 200 km, this could be a smart pick. The performance is there, the features list is long, and the brand has shown it can sell these in volume. But if range anxiety is real for you, the petrol or diesel might still be the safer bet until charging networks catch up.
Deliveries start February 23, 2026. That gives you time to think it through and maybe test drive one when they hit showrooms.
